Im 22 and I live in Portsmouth UK. I was diagnosed on the 24th July 2006 after being rushed into hospital with sugar levels of over 33.5mmo/l (we dont know what the actual level was)

Im an IT Support Analyst working in an ITIL environment, also working towards a Microsoft Certification (MCDST, MCP).

I used to enjoy going to the gym and working out to build up, but that ground to a halt pre-diagnosis when I could stand 10 minutes in the gym without feeling sick, I've now stopped completely (lifting weights) untill I know I have full control over my diabetes.

I have a lovely girlfriend called Laura, we've been together for just over 2 years now and are very happy, im looking forward to spending the rest of my lift with her. We hope to move into our own place within the next 3-4 years and have a family together.

Diabetes side of things... I've recently changed my insulin regimen to Lantus and Novorapid (previously Mixtard 30). Im REALLY happy about the change and im raring to get on with it and stabalize my BG. So far so good, so hopefully i can stay within target now!

I hate testing, my fingers hate me, I test about 12 times a day. I'd LOVE to have, or even just test the new Glucoband that's being developed, but I guess I'll have to wait just like everyone else! :(
