A Diabetic Story and/or a Low Experience: |
|
I was 13 years old when I was diagnosed, and my blood glucose was measured at 43 mmol/L. It took about a week of massive 4 times daily doses of fast acting insulin to get me down to normal levels. The 3 week hospital visit was a respite from a really crappy home life. Took me a week before I was able to go for a poop. Control was easy for a while, but then it got really tough. Finally after years of being out of control, I decided to do something about my disease and get some control back in my life. So far, my weekly average blood sugars have gone from over 10 mmol/L to under 6 mmol/L. Sweet! (no pun intended). |
