Diabuddies Diabetes Management System

DDMS Setup

Step One - Register with Diabuddies.com
You must have an account with Diabuddies to use the DDMS.  Please register if you haven't already done so.

Step Two - Make sure you have a supported meter
Supported meters:
Freestyle Flash (theoretically all Freestyle meters should work).
The Flash is Diabuddies preferred meter.

I am working with OneTouch meters right now - ETA: 10/15/06

If you don't have a supported meter, let me know, I will fix that.  Until then you can also enter information manually here.

Step Three - Make sure you have a cable to connect your meter to your computer
If you have a Freestyle Flash click here to get the phone number to call and see if you are elgible for a free cable (It's under the "Freestyle > Customer Service Number ")  .  You just have to give them the serial number of your meter.  They even pay shipping if you are elgible.

I am working on making every meter and pump compatible with Diabuddies.com.

Step Four - Transfer the data from your meter to your Diabuddies.com account
4a) Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.   If you do not have it installed on your computer.   A restart will be required. This only needs to be installed once, and is also available for download at www.microsoft.com (You can also just click the next link, and it will prompt you to download from Microsoft while installing).

Make sure you restart your computer after you install this, even if it doesn't prompt you to.

4b) After you install the .NET framework install the latest  Diabuddies Meter Client(this link is the latest).    

A Java verision for Mac will be released.

4c) Run the Diabuddies Meter Client (a shortcut is placed on your desktop and in your start bar.) 

4d) The Diabuddies Client will upload the data from your meter to your Diabuddies.com Account.

Step Five - Edit and fill in the data in your Diagrid!
You will be automatically taken to your diagrid after you transfer your data. Or you can click on "My Diagrid" in the left nav bar, anytime you want to go there.  With your diagrid you can track every aspect of your diabetic health.
